But I ordered the 40lb and thought that was fine, since I only had a 30lb bag of dog food. The 30lb bag doesn't even fit in here! I sent Chewy a message, thinking there had been some kind of mistake. And like always, their customer service is the bomb and they sent me another 40lb container. However, it's the same size as the one they already sent me.

I think somebody gave Chewy 20lb containers mismarked as 40lb. It'll have to do for now, and at least they're stackable. The containers are still good quality, but definitely way too small for me. I would give it 4 and a half stars. This product is amazing and I always have so much food for my animals that this size was nice.

I gave it 4 and a half stars instead of five star because they are stackable but I feel that it's not sturdy enough when they are on top of each other. But I have cats that jump on anything so I just worry. But I am going to buy two more of these once I get paid. I might just velcro them to each other so I can stack them and not worry about them. This is advertised as holding 40 lb. We buy Royal Canin in 30 lb. We ended up buying two because we like the design and they fit well on the shelf we have available.

By the way, there are two ways to orient the container - even in the position with the opening way on top, which gives maximum volume, the 30 lbs would not fit. I had a rectangular container that held about 25 lbs of kibble, but it had a pop top like a food storage container.
