What is the difference between rotation reflection and translation
Translation moves the object without rotating it or changing its size. Reflection flips the object about a line of reflection. Rotation rotates a figure about a fixed point.
Dilation changes the size of a figure without changing its essential shape. In a translation , every point of the object must be moved in the same direction and for the same distance. When you reflect a point across the y-axis, the y-coordinate remains the same, but the x-coordinate is transformed into its opposite its sign is changed.
The reflection of the point x,y across. There are four main types of transformations: translation , rotation , reflection and dilation. A translation is when a geometric figure slides up, down, left or right on the coordinate plane. The figure moves its location, but doesn't change its orientation. It also doesn't change its size or shape. When you perform translations , you slide a figure left or right, up or down.
Translation is when we slide a figure in any direction. Reflection is when we flip a figure over a line. Rotation is when we rotate a figure a certain degree around a point. When you reflect a point across the x-axis, the x-coordinate remains the same, but the y-coordinate is transformed into its opposite its sign is changed.
If you forget the rules for reflections when graphing, simply fold your paper along the x-axis the line of reflection to see where the new figure will be located. As verbs the difference between translate and transform is that translate is while transform is to change greatly the appearance or form of.
