Anamika Majumdar - a social worker, who works with an NGO, was the first crorepati of the ninth season. Majumdar invested the money for the betterment of the NGO. The Narula brothers - Achin and Sarthak from Delhi graced the hot seat and won the grand prize of Rs 7 crore. The brothers used the amount for their mother's cancer treatment. Firoz Fatima, who gave up her studies after the death of her father, used the money to stabilise her family's situation.

Another contestant, Taj Mohammad Rangrez also won a prize worth Rs. A history teacher by profession, he used the money for his daughter's treatment for partial vision impairment, bought a house and funded the marriage of two orphaned girls. Sunmeet Kaur held a degree in fashion designing but couldn't pursue her career because of her in-laws. After winning in KBC, she started her own fashion house. Sushil Kumar was a computer operator from Bihar and won Rs. He became the first contestant to win such massive amount on the show.

But according to his social media post, he called winning Rs 5 crore to be the worst phase of his life where he almost divorced his wife, got bankrupt and turned an alcoholic. Rahat Taslim participated in the fourth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati in and created history by winning Rs. Rahat was preparing for her medical exams when she was married off. After winning the amount, Rahat opened a garment showroom in a mall in Giridih. He hailed from Guna and was an engineer, who won Rs 1 crore on the show.

Harshvardhan Nawathe had received a call to audition for Kaun Banega Crorepati when he was studying for Civil Services exam. He became the first-ever crorepati of this quiz show and went to the UK to pursue higher studies. Later, he got married and works with a multinational conglomerate company.

Babita Tade was also one of the winners of Kaun Banega Crorepati I also want to help the students in my school. I want to get a water filter and build a kitchen shed, as they have a hard time eating during the rains. Jha was a senior engineer in the railways. During the show, Jha had said that he wants to use the prize money to build a house in Patna.

Jain has been working as a teacher in a coaching centre and she invested the prize money for the future of her children. She recently inaugurated a dental clinic for her son. Majumdar is a social worker and used the prize money for the betterment of her NGO.

Anamika is still doing social work. Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 is renewed for its new season with a few changes. The new season won't see Fastest fingers first as it is modified with Triple Test. Unlike the previous seasons where the contestants had to arrange their answers in chronological order, in this season, they will have to answer three general knowledge questions. The one who answers all three answers in the shortest time will win a chance to sit on the 'hot seat.

Since the studio audience is returning to the quiz show, the new season will re-introduce the 'audience poll' lifeline. The remaining lifelines- , Ask the expert and Flip the question would to remain in the show.
